The quick answer
Farm Apathy’s Maw from the Shade of Orobyss at 50 or more Corruption, or from the Confluence of Oblivion Woven Echo at the same minimum. Farming generic “Unique or Set Axe” reward echoes is not a substitute for these listed sources.
Eligible sources
| Source | Minimum Corruption | Last Epoch Tools base chance |
|---|---|---|
| Shade of Orobyss | 50 | 25% |
| Confluence of Oblivion | 50 | 50% |
These are Last Epoch Tools base values, not a measured personal drop rate. Last Epoch Tools says the chance increases with Corruption above 50 and with the echo’s distance from the center. A qualifying kill can still produce no axe.
Choose your farming loop
Use your Monolith progression to reach an eligible Shade encounter, check the Corruption requirement, and defeat it. If you have access to Confluence of Oblivion, it is another eligible source with a higher listed base chance. Select the encounter you can clear reliably; the higher chance alone does not establish better drops per hour.
Do not confuse the item’s level 65 equip requirement with the 50 Corruption drop requirement. Normal timelines can reach 50 Corruption; Empowered timelines start at 100. More difficulty is optional after qualification, rather than a guarantee of a drop or high Legendary Potential.
This page identifies farming sources and eligibility. It does not provide a Shade combat guide or claim a guaranteed number of runs.
