The quick answer
Solo Character Found (SCF) is a self-imposed character challenge: the character uses only items it finds, and shares neither its stash nor Item Faction progress with other characters. It is stricter than Solo Account Found (SAF).
SCF versus SAF
| Rule | Solo Account Found | Solo Character Found |
|---|---|---|
| Parties and items found by other players | Not allowed | Not allowed |
| Items from your other characters | Other SAF characters in the same mode and Season can share | Only items found by this character |
| Shared stash | Shared between compatible SAF characters | No sharing, including with other SCF characters |
| Item Faction progress | Shared between compatible SAF characters | Separate for this character |
SAF also cannot use items from SCF characters, even in the same mode and Season. These challenge rules are distinct from choosing an Item Faction such as Circle of Fortune. The official definition describes restrictions; it does not provide an extra SCF loot bonus to rely on when choosing the challenge.
Can you opt out?
Yes. SCF can be turned into SAF through the options, giving access to the shared progress of compatible SAF characters. An online SAF character can opt out into ordinary Normal or Hardcore. Offline characters default to SAF unless you select SCF; do not assume the online opt-out rule removes offline’s account restriction.
Pick SCF if you want an independent character journey. Pick SAF if you want solo play while retaining compatible account-level gear and faction sharing.
